Sightline Institute
Sightline Institute is a nonprofit think tank based in Seattle, Washington, focused on sustainability and quality of life research for the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Sightline has become a prominent voice in housing policy reform, publishing widely-read research and advocacy work on zoning reform, housing supply, and land use regulations.
The organization supports permitting middle housing and multifamily development in single-family zones, and its research on Oregon’s housing laws—particularly around HB 2001 (2019)—has been influential in national conversations about zoning reform.
